Greek President, Prokopios Pavlopoulos, on Thursday said in a joint press conference with Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, at Baabda Presidential Palace, that the Greeks had been the first to launch dialogue among civilizations.

“It has become more pressing than ever to open the channels of communication due to the massively existing conflicts among civilizations,” the Greek President, who is currently on a two-day official visit to Lebanon, stressed.

“It is evident that the main element that we can enjoy and share is dialogue between civilizations and peoples,” he added.

Moreover, the Greek president thanked Lebanon for its endeavors handling the Syrian refugee crisis.

“Europe hasn’t been present as it should have been since the beginning of the Syrian crisis,” Pavlopoulos added.
