Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on “Twitter” today: “On Mother’s Day, a tribute to my mother and all mothers. The mother is the first teacher of love and of human, social and moral values that remain with us all of your lives, and in this sense she draws the course of nations and the fates of societies.”

Hariri paid tribute to “every Lebanese mother waiting for the right to citizenship of her children, every Palestinian mother resisting the occupation, and every Arab mother struggling for a legitimate right”.

He also paid “a special tribute to every Syrian mother who is paying the price of freedom with her life and the lives of her children on the hands of a criminal regime and its terrorist aids.”
