The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri received today at the Center House, the speaker of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies Rodrigo Maia, at the head of a parliamentary and economic delegation participating in the Diaspora conference held in Biel.

During the meeting, Hariri welcomed the delegation’s visit to Lebanon and hoped the relations between Brazil and Lebanon would be enhanced, especially at the economic level. He thanked Brazil for its contribution to UNIFIL, noting that this presence promotes peace in the South.

For his part, Maia stressed the need to strengthen relations between the two countries not only on the social level, but also on the economic and commercial levels, hoping the economic and trade agreement between Lebanon and Brazil would be signed soon because it will develop relations in this regard.

Hariri also received the Assistant Foreign Minister of South Africa Mohammed Dangor, in the presence of South Africa Honorary Consul in Lebanon, Wajih al-Bizri.

After the meeting, Dangor said: We discussed the regional and local developments and Prime Minister Hariri explained Lebanon’s viewpoint regarding the Syrian refugees’ crisis and the issue of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
