Hasaka- Hasaka Governor Ghassan Khalil discussed with Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) office in Syria, Dr. Akjemal Magtymova, the impact of cutting off drinking water by the Turkish regime and its terrorist mercenaries to one million citizens in Hasaka, and what results from this such as the diseases carried through the water transferred to the locals, such as pandemics and diarrhea.

In a statement to the media after the meeting, Khalil noted that the citizens in Hasaka province looks at the international community and humanitarian organizations during the current period through the cup of water. If available, this means that there is work for these organizations, and if it is not available, there is a defect in the work of these organizations.

He hailed the role of the World Health Organization in providing the Coronavirus vaccine to citizens and giving it to the target groups through the centers of Hasaka Health Directorate and its mobile teams.

Khalil pointed out that the health sector in the province suffers from the practices of the US occupation-backed QSD militia, which has seized the majority of hospitals, clinics and health centers and put them out of service to deprive citizens of services that were provided to them free of charge, underlining the need to strengthen cooperation and support the government health sector with medical supplies, and medicines to provide the optimal services.

For her part, Magtymova expressed the World Health Organization’s concern about the impact of cutting off drinking water from Hasaka, and said we are working hard to ensure the quality of the water.

Magtymova indicated that the World Health Organization continues to support the province in order to deliver the Coronavirus vaccine and is making every possible effort to obtain and give vaccines to citizens in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, as it is able to reach all citizens in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Director of the World Health Organization office said that the organization has provided 330 tons of medical aid during the past year to Hasaka Province, and it will continue to provide possible support, especially with the issue of the Coronavirus vaccine, to continue implementing the vaccination campaigns for citizens.
