Health Minister affirms Bahrain’s keenness to develop in disease response and pandemic control

Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, met Bader Saif Al Rawahi, Director of Communicable Diseases in Oman.

The minister affirmed that Bahrain has taken pioneering steps in the field of disease response and pandemic control, which reflects the continuous government support for preventive programs, especially through training national personnel and strengthening the components of the health system at various levels.

Al Rawahi is hosted by the Kingdom to present the Vaccine Management Workshop, which aims to train those in charge of vaccine services in Bahrain on the effective management of vaccines.

Dr. Ijlal Faisal Ali Al Alawi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, inaugurated the workshop, organized by the Public Health Drectorate held on June 17 – 22.

During the inauguration, Dr. Al Alawi said that the Ministry’s care to organize this workshop reflects its keenness to ensure the effective management of vaccines and follow-up on their storage in accordance with international requirements to preserve their safety and effectiveness.

She noted the importance of training health workers in the various health institutions who provide immunization services, in order to preserve the Kingdom’s achievements in the field of vaccines, control of infectious diseases and ensuring the quality of immunization services.

Dr. Al Alawi thanked the sponsoring company and the Director of Communicable Diseases in Oman for contributing in organizing this workshop, which helps to further elevates medical services in the Kingdom.
