House speaker says voting in presidential election “national duty”

Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Dr Hanafy Gebaly said as he inaugurated the fourth regular session of the second legislative round on Sunday, October 1st that participating in the presidential election is not only a democratic tradition, but a national duty in the first place.

He noted that this vote is particularly important, given the significance of the president’s position in the Egyptian political system.

He urged all Egyptians to interact with the process and cast their ballots.

Gebaly said MPs should act to raise awareness of the people about the importance of positively contributing to that important event, which will show Egyptians to the world as they rightly practice democracy.

The House speaker greeted the Egyptian people, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Armed Forces on the golden jubilee of the October War victory.
