Damascus: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Syria has reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to those in need, emphasizing the crucial role of its partnership with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) over the past 14 years in addressing the increasing humanitarian demands.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency, the ICRC, in collaboration with its partners in Syria, remains dedicated to addressing urgent needs and supporting essential services and vital infrastructure. These efforts are part of early recovery initiatives aimed at restoring livelihoods, with the Committee reiterating that its neutral and impartial humanitarian work serves as a lifeline for affected populations.
In a briefing held in recognition of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, the Committee lauded the efforts of millions of volunteers and workers within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement globally. It highlighted that any attack on humanitarian workers constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and paid tribute to the humanitarian workers who have lost their lives while performing their duties.
