Interior Minister emphasises royal pardon decree’s embodiment of humanitarian values

Manama, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, held a meeting with governors. The General Director of Media and Security Culture and Assistant General Coordinator for Governorates attended the meeting.

The Interior Minister extended appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for his issuance of the royal decree pardoning inmates convicted of involvement in riots and criminal cases. Emphasising the royal decree’s embodiment of humanitarian values, the Minister lauded the decree as a testament to the royal vision aimed at fostering national belonging and reinforcing social stability.

He underscored the compassionate and inspirational leadership stemming from a series of advanced humanitarian initiatives, which reflect His Majesty’s paternal care for the nation’s citizens. He noted His Majesty’s unwavering dedication to ensuring a dignified livelihood for all citizens, which is aligned with His Majesty’s leadership approach that is underpinned by principles of tolerance, peace, and steadfast national values.

Commending the support of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Interior Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to implement rehabilitation projects, initiatives, and programmes. These endeavours aim to foster a constructive approach towards integrating beneficiaries into society and promoting social cohesion. Furthermore, he emphasised the Interior Ministry’s commitment to collaborating with human rights organisations to implement humanitarian initiatives, thereby prioritising the best interests of citizens through the rehabilitation of inmates within reformation and rehabilitation centres.

Within the same context, the Interior Minister underscored the pivotal role of the governorates in catering to their residents’ needs by offering requisite support to enhance interaction and bolster security awareness systems. He stressed that the active involvement of governorates on all fronts fosters cooperation and engagement with all segments of society.

The meeting discussed the governorates’ programmes and activities to mark Bahrain’s celebration of the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty’s accession to the throne, in addition to the governorates’ ongoing projects and affairs. The Interior Minister reiterated the imperative of maintaining robust ties between various authorities and sustaining interaction between governorates and citizens to promote community partnership.
