Damascus: The Syrian authorities on Wednesday initiated efforts to reopen the international road connecting the Jdeidet Yabous crossing with the Lebanese border. This development comes after the authorities filled in craters caused by recent Israeli aggression and created a temporary road to ensure the continued flow of traffic until full rehabilitation is completed.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency, Syrian officials at the border have emphasized the significance of the crossing, describing it as a “real artery between Syria and Lebanon.” With the joint efforts of the Damascus countryside governorate and support from various parties, work commenced early in the morning to repair the craters and rehabilitate the road. This initiative aims to facilitate the movement of individuals traveling to and from Lebanon, ensuring they can cross the border with ease.
The Israeli entity’s 66-day aggression on Lebanon included a series of raids targeting the al-Masnaa road and border crossings between Lebanon and Syri
a. These actions resulted in extensive material damage to roads, bridges, and other facilities, prompting urgent repair and rehabilitation efforts by Syrian authorities.
