BEIRUT, Lebanon, The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), has distributed aid to about 1,000 Syrian displaced families, in Lebanon’s southern towns and villages, in coordination and cooperation with Lebanon Red Cross (LRC).

The aid includes food packages, of which one is enough for a five family-members, that are to be handed to 500 Syrian families in Wazzani village, and 500 other families in Arsal town, Khaled Al-Makhyal, head of KRCS team in Lebanon, said.

KRCS is keen on intensifying aid for Syrian refugee families in Lebanon, particularly those living in the country’s southern region, and rural areas, where aid does not usually reach there, as much as other areas, due to their difficult geographic nature and location, in addition to the strict security measures there, Al-Makhyal affirmed.

For his part, Youssef Boutros, coordinator of LRC relief operations, affirmed that thousands of Syrian displaced families in Lebanon, have benefited significantly from KRCS’ various projects, since the launch of its relief campaign.

Boutros also conveyed the gratitude and appreciation of the Syrian refugees, from various Lebanese areas, to the Kuwaiti Amir, government, and people, for all the help and aid they provided, for the Syrian people.
