Lavrov Blames Israel’s Aggressive Policies for Middle East Escalation.

Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that the ongoing escalation of the Middle East crisis is due to the policies of aggression and militarization pursued by Israel with the support of the United States. ‘The situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate as a direct result of Israel’s aggressive policies, militarization, and Washington’s efforts to monopolize mediation process and sacrifice UN Security Council resolutions,’ Lavrov said in an interview with Rossiiskaya Gazeta daily.

According to Syrian Arab News Agency, Lavrov emphasized that Israel’s desire to ensure its security at the expense of the security of others, while benefiting from the unwavering support it receives from the United States, is counterproductive and will negatively impact relations for many years to come.

Lavrov suggested that the next step in addressing the acute phase of the crisis should involve preparing the conditions for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He stated that achieving
this goal requires reliance on the positions of the countries in the region rather than those attempting to impose terms and conditions from overseas.
