Libyan military committee meets in Cairo to discuss removing mercenaries from Libya

Meetings of Libya’s Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) kicked off in Cairo on Saturday 30/10/2021 to discuss removing mercenaries and foreign troops and fighters from Libya.

The committee is convening today in the presence of UN envoy for Libya Jan Kubis and representatives of Libya’s neighboring countries.

In its second meeting in Egypt, the committee is set to tackle means of removing foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya in a way that helps support political solutions in the country.

The committee meeting is held ahead of the Libyan presidential and legislative elections, slated for December 24.
