Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission Uses Technology to Enrich Visitors’ Experience at Riyadh International Book Fair

The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, organizer of the Riyadh International Book Fair, has leveraged modern technologies to elevate visitors’ experience while navigating the fair pavilions and stimulate their engagement.

Through advanced technologies, visitors are offered all necessary information and enabled to take a culturally enriching journey. They are informed about the latest activities and events, and about the publishing houses participating in the fair.

An online platform makes it possible to obtain complimentary entry tickets and has incorporated numerous smart panels to aid visitors in navigating the exhibition, identifying participating publishing houses, and understanding the exhibition’s layout.

Standing out at the fair is an AI-powered robot that helps visitors find their way to the publishing houses swiftly and accurately.

Numerous publishing houses have display screens offering detailed information about available books. Some pavilions are equipped with devices for on-s
ite printing of publication, further enriching the visitors’ experience and granting access to new content.

Held at King Saud University from September 26 to October 5, the fair is open daily from 11 am to midnight; on Fridays it runs from 2 pm to midnight. It offers a wide range of cultural activities, including 200 diverse events aiming to boost the Kingdom’s cultural presence worldwide while providing support to the publishing industry and Saudi authors and writers.
