ME Green Initiative summit to take up shared approach toward green transfer boost–Minister

Environment Minister Dr Yasmine Fouad said on Monday 25/10/2021 that the Middle East Green Initiative summit offers an opportunity for probing means to shape a shared future and determine green political solutions to joint environmental assets, according to a statement by the Environment Ministry.

The summit will also take up the adoption of a joint approach toward promotion of green transformation, added Fouad in remarks while heading to Saudi Arabia to attend the summit on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, said the statement.

The event will tackle mechanisms for helping governments to capitalize on sustainable financing and discuss all these ideas in COP26 as well, said Fouad.

She went on to say financial sector experts will discuss challenges facing the sector in the summit .

The initiative was launched by Saudi Arabia under the sponsorship of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The summit is expected to outline Saudi Arabia’s vision for making the world a greener and more sustainable place.

Several heads of state will be weighing in on the climate discussions as part of the summit.
