Merehbi visits refugee camps in Arsal

NNA – State Minister for Refugee Affairs, Mouein Merehbi, visited on Sunday Arsal town to inspect the situation of the encampments of Syrian refugees.

Minister Merehbi, who was accompanied by a delegation comprising Secretary General of the High Relief Committee General Mohammad Kheir, met with Telecommunications Minister, Jamal Jarrah, and Arsal Municipality head, Bassel Houjeiri, as well as other dignitaries.

Merehbi who was entrusted with this visit by Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, confirmed the latter’s keenness on following up the town’s needs as well as those of other marginalized regions.

“We are working on solving the sanitation problem in the town as soon as possible, upon the Premier’s instructions,” he said.

He thanked UN officials for their tremendous efforts to alleviate the sufferings of displaced persons and the Lebanese hosting community through building basic infrastructures.

The Minister did not forget to praise the efforts of the army’s command in setting up a mechanism to maintain public health and to reduce environmental damages.
