Mikdad, Khaji discuss next meeting of Astana talks

Senior Advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, discussed with Foreign and expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, the upcoming round of Astana talks, scheduled in the second half of the current month.

The talks also dealt with the latest developments regarding the meetings of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution.

During the meeting, Mikdad briefed Khaji on the latest political and field developments in Syria, particularly in the domain of national reconciliations and the restoration of security and stability to the majority of Syrian lands, affirming Syria’s stance in rejection of the Turkish troops’ illegitimate presence inside the Syrian territory.

Khaji, for his part, renewed Iran’s support to Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as to the efforts exerted in combatting terrorism.
