Mikdad on anniversary of Sheikholeslam demise: He contributed to boosting strategic bilateral relations

Tehran, SANA- Foreign Ministry of Iran commemorated on Tuesday the 3rd anniversary of the demise of Hossein Sheikholeslam, ex-deputy Foreign Minister, in the presence of Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Shafiq Dayoub who represented Syrian Foreign Minister, Fayssal Mikdad.

In a speech on behalf of Mr. Mikdad, Ambassador Dayoub hailed the career of late Sheikholeslam, saying that his passing away was a loss for Iran and the resistance axis as he was known for his stances in support of Palestine.

Mikdad also noted to the great efforts exerted by the late diplomat, when was an ambassador in Damascus between 1998 to 2003, to boost strategic ties between Iran and Syria

“On behalf of my colleagues in the Foreign Ministry and by my name, I extend warmest condolence to the Iranian people on the anniversary of the passing away of late Ambassador Sheikholeslam,” Mikdad said.

Figures from Lebanon, Palestine and Iraq, in addition to some Ambassadors accredited in Tehran attended the event.
