Moscow-Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Vershinin, stressed the need to provide humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people away from politicization with commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

” Vershinin discussed at a telephone call with UN special envoy for Syria ,Geir Pedersen ,the situation in Syria in details and missions of boosting the process of political solution to be led and implemented by the Syrians themselves.” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The statement added that Vershinin referred to the importance of conducting an objective assessment of the situation in several regions of Syria and the need to continue the fight against terrorists in addition to providing non-politicized humanitarian aid based on adhering to the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria in accordance with UN Security Council resolution no 2254.
