MPS FROM FOREIGN POLICY COMMISSION WANT TO VISIT SYRIA ON CONVENIENCE
TEHRAN,- Members of Parliament from Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy are willing to visit Syria at the earliest convenience, spokesman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said on Sunday.
Naqavi Hosseini said that the visit to Syria by the Commission members indicates Iran’s support for campaign against terrorism led by the Syrian government.
Asked about composition of the new Commission to take shape for the new term of parliament with the new MPs, he said that the Commission will convene once again on Tuesday to determine working groups.
He said that the Commission on National Security and Foreign policy will be composed of three main committees, namely, the foreign policy committee, the defense committee and the security committee along with a number of subsidiary committees.
One of the subsidiary committees that was proposed and approved by the Commission is the nuclear committee, the lawmaker said.
Iran is implementing the nuclear deal – known as the JCPOA – and the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is in charge of supervising the implementation of the deal, setting up the nuclear committee in the Commission is necessary, he added.
