NSSA, US Embassy hold ‘Opportunities in Space Sector Entrepreneurship’ event


The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) and the US Embassy in Bahrain, in collaboration with Strathclyde University and S-Eleven Educational, organised an event titled ‘Opportunities in Space Sector Entrepreneurship.’ The event took place at Strathclyde University’s new campus at Harbour Heights in Bahrain Financial Harbour. It was led by Mike Gold, Executive Vice President for Civil Space and External Affairs at Redwire and an international legal expert in the space sector.

Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the NSSA, highlighted the importance of the space sector in raising awareness and promoting investment opportunities that align with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. He emphasised that these efforts support sustainability and competitiveness goals, as well as the national space policy and the agency’s strategic objectives.

Dr. Al Aseeri also noted that collaboration with international experts paves the way for future partnerships, supports startups in the space industry, and enhances Bahrain’s effo
rts to attract global companies and boost specialised conference tourism in the medium term.

Dr. Abdullah Al Sada, General Manager of S Eleven Educational, remarked on the role of events like this in advancing education and innovation in space science, stating that they provide valuable insights for students regarding entrepreneurship opportunities.

This event is part of NSSA’s ongoing efforts to underscore the importance of the space sector in achieving Bahrain’s sustainable development goals and creating a conducive environment for entrepreneurs, ultimately contributing to the national economy.
