Member of Parliament Jean Ogassapian said on Wednesday that the situation in Lebanon would maintain a status-quo until the achievement of significant settlements in the region, considering that the opportunity to elect a new president is not available at present.

Ogassapian told ” Voice of Lebanon” radio that “the formula, nowadays, is to preserve the minimum level possible of the cabinet’s performance and stability.”

“What happened after the Arab countries labeled Hizbullah as a terrorist would cause a crisis in the relations between Lebanon and these countries and would increase the burdens on Lebanon and the Lebanese,” Ogassapian added.

The MP considered that the latest escalations affected all the national dialogues, pointing out that despite all this former Prime Minister Saad Hariri confirmed the continuity of dialogue with Hizbullah.

Ogassapian considered that Hizbullah is preparing to adopt a new system in the wake of the new settlements which are to take place in the region and the determination of the power positions in Syria.
