MP George Okeis from the “Strong Republic” bloc on Tuesday said that Syria’s return to the Arab League would not mean the end of its issues with Lebanon.

“Lebanon’s old problems with Syria did not start with the suspension of Damascus membership in the Arab League,” he told Voice of Lebanon radio station, adding that its return to the AL will not solve its issues with Lebanon.

“Lebanon seeks the best of ties with Syria, but the problem is in Syria’s view on the Lebanese state,” he explained.

“The current experiences do not suggest any change in Syria’s policy towards Lebanon,” he added.
