Jordanian Foreign Minister arrives in Beirut on solidarity visit


Acting under the guidance of Jordanian King Abdullah II, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, arrived in Lebanon on Monday for a solidarity visit.

During his visit, Safadi is scheduled to meet with Lebanon’s Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, and Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun to address efforts to cease Israeli hostilities against Lebanon and explore potential support mechanisms.

Safadi arrived on a Jordanian Armed Forces aircraft carrying 13 tons of food supplies, relief materials, medications, and medical equipment, marking the seventh such aid shipment sent to Lebanon by Jordan since September 18. This ongoing assistance underscores Jordan’s commitment to supporting Lebanon during this challenging time.

In his meetings, Safadi is expected to reaffirm Jordan’s steadfast solidarity, emphasizing its stance on Lebanon’s security, stability, and the safety of its citizens. He will also express condemnation of the recent Israel
i aggression, while pledging support for efforts aimed at rebuilding national institutions.

Safadi has called for an urgent response from the international community to halt hostilities and ensure the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Occupation army calls on northern Gaza residents to evacuate southward


The Israeli occupation army on Monday has called on residents of Beit Hanoun, Jabalia and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate southward.

“Israeli army forces are operating with intensity in the area,” the statement added, urging residents to move immediately to the southern humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi.

Makary from Grand Serail: We hold on to France’s ceasefire initiative


Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met Monday at the Grand Serail with Caretaker Information Minister, Ziad Makary, who informed his host of the contacts he had held in Paris on the sidelines of the Francophonie Summit, in which he represented Lebanon.

“We have relayed via media means to all the presidents of states whom we met on the sidelines of the summit a key message that the civilians are the ones paying the price and that this conflict is destroying Lebanon and Beirut on a daily basis,” Makary said following the meeting.

“The Lebanese state holds on to the French-US initiative that provides for a 21-day ceasefire,” he said. “We sensed a great seriousness of French President Emmanuel Macron,” he added.

In response to a question, Makary confirmed that Macron will hold a conference on Lebanon end of October.

Mikati had earlier met with Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Baris Ulusoy, with whom he discussed the latest developments.

He also met with Army Commander General Joseph Aoun.

He separately
chaired a meeting comprising Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi, Public Works Minister Ali Hamieh, and the army commander.

Jordan FM in Beirut for talks with number of officials


The press office of Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Monday announced that Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, is expected to arrive in Beirut this afternoon to meet with PM Mikati and a number of officials.
