Police Directorates continue efforts to prevent spread of pandemic

The Police Directorates continue their efforts to protect public safety as part of the national fight against COVID-19. They continue efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They highlighted the importance of following the procedures and instructions of the National Medical Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) by changing some social practices, especially with the rapid increase in infected cases.

They also affirmed the importance of individuals’ contributions to the the national efforts by staying at home, wearing masks and keeping the social distance. The Interior Ministry’s various directorates also continue their law enforcement campaigns to stop violations of precautionary measures against COVID-19.

The police directorates in governorates and other concerned departments have taken the necessary steps against coronavirus spread. A total of 10,360 procedures have been taken to ensure social distancing. Meanwhile, 88,440 violations of not wearing masks in public places have been registered, and 12056 awareness campaigns have been conducted until June 16.

In the same period, the General Directorate of Civil Defence carried out 330,510 disinfection operations of government buildings and roads and conducted training for 2238 individuals in the private sector and the public sector.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the National Ambulance Centre has dealt with 16927 virus-related cases through a specialised team, and the Transportation Directorate have transferred 103009 cases.
