Damascus: President Bashar al-Assad issued Law No. 34 to establish a private university focused on Christian Theology, Religious, and Philosophical Studies.
According to Syrian Arab News Agency, the newly established university will comprise several colleges, including the Christian Theology College, Philosophical Studies College, and Comparative Religion, Religious Studies and History of Religions College. Additionally, it will host an Ancient Languages Institute.
The university aims to serve as a progressive intellectual center, preparing researchers in theology to be active participants in their communities. It will also foster a scientific intellectual dialogue that emphasizes analysis, synthesis, and debate, promoting education and respect for diverse beliefs.
