Qatar and Turkey Reaffirm Commitment to Syrian Support


Doha: Qatar and Turkey have renewed their full support for Syria, emphasizing the importance of steps aimed at restructuring the Syrian state and promoting national unity. During a press conference held in Doha, both nations expressed their commitment to aid Syria amidst ongoing challenges.



According to Syrian Arab News Agency, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani highlighted the discussions between the two countries regarding Syria’s situation. He underscored the necessity of lifting sanctions imposed on Syria, citing their detrimental impact on the humanitarian crisis and the provision of essential needs. The Qatari Prime Minister emphasized the urgency of supporting Syria during this critical phase, particularly focusing on humanitarian and economic stabilization.



Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan echoed these sentiments, noting Turkey’s contributions to Syria’s economic support, particularly in energy provision and meeting the needs of the Syrian people. He stressed the importance of establishing a swift working mechanism to collaborate with allies, ensuring comprehensive support for Syria and advocating for the lifting of longstanding sanctions.
