This report examines various economic and socio-political developments in the region prior to and following the 2011 conflict. It also sheds light on the political institutions and economic policies of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, we well as its relations with the Syrian government. Lastly, it provides a sketch of the administration’s budget, detailing its expenses and revenues, and cover the various public and private investments that have taken place over the past few years.
