Sabbagh: Priority in Syria is eliminating terrorism, enhancing local reconciliations

Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh discussed on Tuesday with a Brazilian parliamentary delegation headed by Arlindo Chinaglia relations between Syria and Brazil, particularly on the parliamentary level, and means of developing them.

Sabbagh called on the members of the Syrian-Brazilian Friendship Committees in the two countries to increase their cooperation and exchange visits and delegations, affirming the importance of conveying the truth about the situation in Syria to the public opinion.

He reiterated that the priority in Syria is to eliminate terrorism, enhance local reconciliations, and reconstruction, adding that the Syrian people’s solidarity with the leadership and army enabled Syria to achieving successive victories over the terrorist organizations.

He also appreciated the friendly countries’ support for Syria and its people in the war against terrorism.

For his part, Chinaglia referred to the need of the return of diplomatic representation between the two countries at the ambassadorial level.
