Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran, Archbishop Sepuh Sarkissian, renewed support to Syria in its war against terrorism.
Archbishop Sarkissian’s remarks came during a meeting with the Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Daiuob at the Syrian Embassy Headquarters in Tehran on Sunday.
“We stand by the Syrian leadership and people in facing the terrorist war waged against it,” Archbishop Sarkissian said, expressing confidence that Syria will overcome over all the conspiracies that are targeting it and aiming at undermining its sovereignty and independence.
“Syria is the cradle of civilizations, history, heritage, social diversity, amity and coexistence,” he said.
For his part, ambassador Daiuob said that all attempts to target Syria’s unity and its social and religious fabric have failed due to the Syrians keenness and love for their country and their sacrifices in defending its unity, sovereignty and dignity.
He pointed out that the Syrian people’s unity thwarted the conspiracy that targeted their country as well as the unjust terrorist war targeting their country for years.
