Saudi Arabia Contributes to UNRWA’s Support for Palestinian Refugees

Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Al-Sudairi yesterday presented a check to UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini as a contribution from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support UNRWA’s programs and operations.

Al-Sudairi emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and enabling UNRWA to fulfill its responsibilities toward Palestinian refugees.

Lazzarini expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that it will enable UNRWA to continue providing essential services, including education and healthcare, to vulnerable Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

He highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where over 650,000 children are out of school and suffering psychological trauma.

Lazzarini also expressed concern about potential Israeli legislation targeting UNRWA and the deteriorating conditions in Gaza following the recent Israeli aggression.
