Saudi Arabia Marks World Intellectual Property Day

The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) marked World Intellectual Property Day, observed annually on April 26, by launching its “Innovate4future” awareness campaign. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) designated this year’s theme as “Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Goals.”

SAIP participates in various events and initiatives to inspire creativity in the Kingdom. The campaign aims to motivate innovators by highlighting the importance of intellectual property (IP) in safeguarding ideas related to renewable energy, resource management, and clean technologies – all crucial aspects of building a sustainable future.

Recognizing innovation and creativity as key drivers of economic growth, SAIP supports the generation of IP across diverse fields. The authority also collaborates with relevant government entities to streamline the registration process and ensure robust protection for these innovations.

The Kingdom joined WIPO in 1982, and SAIP has leveraged its members
hip to stay abreast of global advancements in IP. This proactive approach fosters a thriving IP ecosystem within the Kingdom.
