Riyadh, The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of the Republic of Korea signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the field of food and medical products with assurances of quality and safety.
The MoU was signed by Saudi Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SFDA Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel and Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin.
It aims to exchange information on regulations, standards, international coordination activities, scientific evaluation, laboratory tests for food control, quality and safety management, pre-marketing evaluation, research and regulations related to artificial intelligence and innovative medical devices. It also stipulates conducting joint research in areas of common interest, exchanging expertise, consultations and visits, and holding joint seminars, workshops and training courses.
The MoU entails cooperation in food, pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical biological products, medical devices and cosmetics.
