Saudi Physics Team Wins Three International Medals at Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad 2024


Riyadh: The Saudi Physics Team secured three medals at the 21st session of the Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad, held in Estonia from April 26 to 28. The competition, renowned as one of the most prestigious in the world, featured 104 male and female students representing ten countries.

The team clinched one gold medal and two silver medals. Wissam Al Qanbar, a third-grade student from the Eastern Region Education Department, earned the gold medal after completing 2600 hours of intensive training through “Mawhiba,” under the guidance of Saudi and foreign trainers. Mazen Al-Shakhs, a second-grade student from the Al-Ahsa Education Department, received 2400 hours of training and secured a silver medal. Similarly, Ahmed Fadlallah, a third-grade student from the Makkah Education Department, achieved a silver medal after completing 2600 hours of training.

This accomplishment builds on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s track record of success in international competitions. It reflects the collective efforts and collabor
ative relationship between King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, “Mawhiba,” the Ministry of Education, and their strategic partners.
