Shaaban: Washington uses agents and terrorists as tools to keep its hegemony on the Middle East

Moscow, SANA-Special Advisor to the Republic’s Presidency, Bouthaina Shaaban, said that the US-western intervention didn’t retreat in the Middle East in general, but they have changed the tools and agents to use them and keep hegemony on the region.

Shaaban affirmed that the West is involved not only in the proxy war in Ukraine, but also in creating regional blocs.

“The world can no longer exist within the framework of a unipolar scheme controlled by the West”, Dr. Shaaban said during the 12th Middle East Conference of the “Valdai” International Discussion Club in Moscow on Tuesday.

She added that the West has changed its tools, but it didn’t change its targets after the war on Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. It has no longer used huge armies to occupy other countries, but it intended to occupy the political decision of those countries and use local agents, terrorists or mercenaries to achieve its goals, and this has been done in Iraq, Libya and they attempted to do so in Syria.

A new world scheme has emerged based on certain rules, but some countries do not know what these rules are, and how they can be adhered to, and these rules are imposed by the US and the West in general, Shaaban added.

Dr. Shaaban pointed out that the West chooses and supports the members affiliated to it, and these members are the ones that carry out the task of implementation, and they use terrorists to change the existing world order and make countries follow their fancies.

On the sidelines of the conference, Shaaban met Mr. Michael Bogdanov, the special representative of the Russian President, deputy Foreign Minister.

During the meeting, Bogdanov thanked Syria for its support to the stances of Russia and backing its efforts to realize and multi-polar world and end the western hegemony.

Shaaban, in turn, affirmed that President Bashar al-Assad supports the Russian stance, and Syria backs the military operation in Ukraine.

On February 28 — March 1, the Valdai Discussion Club, with the support of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, hosts its 12th Middle East Conference, titled “The New Middle East and the Security Crisis in Europe: Effects of Mutual Influence”.
