Shoukry: Egypt-US partnership essential in maintaining regional peace

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Monday that the partnership between Egypt and the United States is very important in order to maintain peace and prosperity in the region.

 

Shoukry added, at a press conference with his US counterpart Antony Blinken held on the sidelines of the Strategic Dialogue between Egypt and the US, that the Middle East region faces many challenges and that the partnership between Egypt and the United States is very important in terms of maintaining peace and prosperity in the region. This partnership is the cornerstone of stability in the region, he stressed.

 

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that Egypt and the United States have cooperated over the past 10 years in all fields, including bilateral relations and particularly in improving conditions in the region.

 

Shoukry stressed that the United States and Egypt are allies that share many different visions, stressing that it is in the best interest of both nations to improve these relations.

 

Over the past ten years, Egypt has been able to improve its conditions and enable its stability and transformation into a balanced regional power, he said, noting that it plays a major role in stabilizing the region.

 

He praised strategic relations with the United States with the aim of achieving many goals, the most important of which are security, fighting terrorism and combating ideological extremism.

 

He confirmed Egypt’s support to overcome all these challenges, especially in the field of economy.
