Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh stressed the council’s keenness on continuous cooperation with the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), voicing pride in Bahrain’s honorable human rights record. He affirmed that Bahrain possesses an advanced legislation system to protect human rights, in compliance with the National Action Charter and the kingdom’s constitution.

The Shura Council Chairman was speaking as he received NIHR President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi who congratulated him on the holy month of Ramadan. He praised the institution’s programmes to boost awareness of the noble values of human rights.

The President of NIHR commended the valuable contributions of the legislature to promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He stressed that the ongoing cooperation between the legislative branch and NIHR reflects keenness on fostering Bahrain high profile status in the human rights field.
