SPEAKER’S ADVISOR: IRAN TO REMAIN IN SYRIA

TEHRAN, Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined that his country will continue its military advisory role in Syria as long as the Syrian government demands.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will remain in Syria powerfully as long as the legal government in Syria wants to use Iran’s advisory assistance; even, if necessary and the Syrian government wants, operations will be organized against terrorists powerfully in any parts of Syria,” Amir Abdollahian told reporters in Tehran.

He said that Iran and its allies played an important role in fighting against terrorism beside the Iraqi and Syrian armies and the world should appreciate the country and the resistance front for removing the big threat of ISIL terrorism from the region.

Amir Abdollahian, meantime, blasted the US for its support for the ISIL and other terrorist groups to materialize their goals in the region.

In relevant remarks on June 2, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani underlined the country’s determination to continue its military advisory role in Syria, adding that the Iranian advisors were not present in the Southern parts of the Arab country.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers security of Syria as its own security and maintenance of stability in Syria is resumed as an achievement for the Islamic Republic of Iran. We will continue our advisory assistance as long as the country’s (Syria’s) government demands,” Shamkhani said.

“We have earlier announced that the Iranian advisors are not present in the Southern parts of Syria at all and they played no role in operations there,” he added.

Shamkhani, meantime, stressed that Iran strongly supports Russia’s efforts to evacuate the terrorists from the Syria-Jordan borders and the Syrian army’s control over the region.
