Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal has extended his sincere appreciation to HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of his launch of the investment and privatization project for sports clubs. The project aims to build an effective sports sector by stimulating and enabling the private sector to contribute to the development of sports and help national teams and sports clubs achieve distinction and expand the base of practitioners, to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The minister said: “The investment and privatization project for sports clubs is a reflection of the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and of the care and attention they give to the sports sector to make it more distinct and successful,” adding that the Kingdom has already hosted many global international sports events, which helped raise significantly the level of Saudi sports competitions, “which have become the focus of the world’s attention”.
“The launch of this huge project is a continuation of the accelerated steps that we are taking in our country toward achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision. This project will lead to a historical transformation of the sports sector in the Kingdom and will contribute to achieving economic diversification and raising the level of professionalism and governance, and promote competitiveness, which will reflect on the present and future of Saudi sports,” added the minister.
“I congratulate all the athletes on the launch of this great project, and we look forward to it being one of the most important drivers of development of sports and of globalization, and will help create an athletic generation capable of making achievements for this great country in various games and sports locally, continentally and globally,” Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki concluded.
