Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and Sharqiya Governor Mamdouh Ghorab on Monday launched a sports marathon at the 10th of Ramadan City, Sharqiya governorate, in the presence of a number of ministry leaders and executive officials of the governorate.

The marathon is held to mark the state’s celebrations of the 6th of October war victory. It involved 1,000 participants from Sharqiya governorate’s various youth centers and clubs.

Also, a group of participants are included in the national project implemented by the sports ministry to take care of orphans under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

During the event, Sobhi and Sharqiya governor inaugurated the administration building and football playground of Al Safwa Sports Club.

They also honored a number of families of martyrs during the ceremony where artistic and sports shows have been presented.
