The Foreign Secretary of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Caesar Obaid, met with the Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Sanjiv Arora, with whom he exchanged views on the general situation and the latest developments.

A statement issued by the SSNP said that talks had touched on the need for the return of displaced Syrians to their country.

“Ambassador Arora expressed his appreciation to the party and its role, and stressed his country’s keenness on boosting relations with Lebanon and supporting its stability and sovereignty. He also underscored his country’s position on the sovereignty of States and its rejection of any tampering with the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian State, while underlining the importance of the fight against terrorism. He pointed out that India stands by the right of return of the Palestinian people to its land to establish a state with Jerusalem as its capital,” the statement read.

Obaid, in turn, stressed “the importance of the return of displaced Syrians to their homes and villages after the defeat of terrorism from most of the Syrian areas and the extension of State control.”
