Statement by Military Operations Command Announcing Syrian Revolution Victory


Damascus: A statement announcing the Syrian Revolution victory was issued by Military Operations Command during a conference held Wednesday. Delivering the statement, Spokesman of the Military Operations Command, Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani said ‘After decades of injustice and tyranny perpetrated by the criminal Assad regime against the Syrian people, and after the tremendous sacrifices made by heroes of the Great Syrian Revolution over 14 years, during which our noble people presented hundreds of thousands of martyrs, wounded, and detainees, and millions of displaced persons in a historical epic that extended from March 2011 until it was crowned with a resounding victory, by the grace and support of Allah Almighty, on the morning of the eighth of December 2024.’



According to Syrian Arab News Agency, Abdul Ghani announced key points of the statement which include the victory of the Great Syrian Revolution and the designation of the eighth of December of each year as a National Day. Additionally, the 2012 Constitution will be abolished and all exceptional laws ceased. There will be a dissolution of the People’s Assembly formed during the era of the former regime and its committees, along with the former regime’s army, paving the way for the rebuilding of the Syrian army on national foundations.



Further, all security apparatus affiliated with the former regime, including their branches and various designations, and militias established by it, will be dissolved. A new security institution will be formed to safeguard the security of citizens. The Arab Socialist Baath Party and the National Progressive Front parties, along with their affiliated organizations, institutions, and committees, will also be dissolved, prohibiting their re-formation under any name, with all assets returned to the Syrian state.



Moreover, to complete their struggle and enhance their role in building the new Syrian state, all military factions, political and civil revolutionary bodies shall be dissolved and integrated into state institutions. Leader Ahmad al-Sharaa will assume the presidency of the country during the transitional period, carrying out the duties of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic and representing it in international forums. The President shall also be authorized to form a provisional legislative council for the transitional period, which will perform its duties until a permanent constitution is adopted and enforced.
