Syria affirms its support for the Palestinian cause

The People’s Assembly affirmed on Wednesday that the Land Day Intifada (Uprising) on March 30, 1976 constituted a qualitative addition to the ongoing struggle of the Palestinian people, and an indication of their inalienable right to land and a free and dignified life.

In a statement issued on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of Land Day, the People’s Assembly indicated that this Uprising shook the Zionist entity and its criminal gangs, and that the Palestinian people demonstrated their existence on their land.

The statement explained the malicious global conspiracy of evil powers, terrorism and aggression suffered by Syria during the last twelve years, came in a desperate attempt that sought to divert it from adherence to rights and not to renounce sovereignty and defense of the just causes of the Arabs, foremost of which is the issue of Palestine and the restoration of the occupied Syrian Golan.

The statement concluded by affirming that Palestine will remain the central cause of Syria, and the Syrian Arab Army will remain the shield of the homeland and its impenetrable fortress until the liberation of all usurped Arab lands.
