New Delhi, Syria and India signed a memo of understanding on reactivating the Syria-India Center of Excellence for Information Technology in Damascus.

The MoU was signed by Secretary for Economic Relations in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs T.S Tirumurti, and Syria’s Ambassador to India Riyad Abbas.

The Syria-India Center of Excellence for Information Technology was inaugurated at the end of 2010 with the aim of providing the latest software and tools for training in IT, and it began operations in February in 2011, then it had to stop its activities due to the terrorist war on Syria.

The idea of launching this project came during the President Bashar al-Assad to India in 2008.
