Syria, Iran to enhance parliamentary relations
Damascus- Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammoudah Sabbagh, on Thursday described as “deep and strong” the relations between Syria and Iran.
Sabbagh, meeting the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus, Javad Turk-Abadi , underlined the necessity of strengthening the parliamentary ties between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Iranian Shura Council in all fields, which serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, particularly in light of the unjust unilateral economic measures imposed by the forces of US hegemony and colonialism and their allies.
He expressed the appreciation of the Syrian people for Iran’s support and its standing by Syria in its war against terrorism and aggression.
He stressed the importance of joint work side by side to achieve the final victory over terrorism.
The Ambassador pointed out to the importance of developing economic relations between the two countries, referring to the common Syrian-Iranian interests in the face of the conspiracies.
He handed over a letter to Sabbagh from Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, concerning the relations between the two brotherly councils.
