DAMASCUS, Syria, Syria’s Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, sent letters to the UN Secretary-General and the head of the Security Council, on two new rocket attacks, carried out by Israel on Damascus, accompanied by attacks with shells by terrorists on the neighbourhoods and suburbs of Damascus.

In the letters, the Ministry said, the Israeli occupation carried out a rocket attack at 0030 hrs Saturday, Dec 2 which targeted a Syrian Army and Armed Forces position in al-Kisweh, in Damascus, followed by another attack at 2230 hrs on Monday, Dec 4, which targeted another military position in Jemraya, adding, these attacks were accompanied by attacks by terrorists with rocket and mortar shells, targeting the neighbourhoods of Damascus.

The Ministry said, the synchronisation of the Israeli attacks with the attacks of their terrorist partners, constitute further irrefutable evidence of the coordination, partnership, and alliance between them.

The Ministry stressed that, these recurring Israeli attacks violate Security Council resolution no. 350 for 1974, on disengagement, and seek to distract the Syrian Arab Army from continuing its operations against terrorist organisations, as these attacks seek to protect terrorists and raise their flagging morale.

The letters concluded by asserting that Syria warns Israel, once more, against continuing its attacks and its support for terrorist groups, calling on the Security Council to condemn these attacks, and to take immediate and decisive measures, to cease the Israeli attacks and hold the occupation accountable for its support of terrorism.
