Syrian Civil Aviation Authority Engages in Key Discussions at ICAO Conference


Abu Dhabi: The Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation participated in significant meetings during the second day of the Fourth International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Global Implementation Support Conference 2025, held in Abu Dhabi. These meetings involved discussions with senior officials from the ICAO, focusing on enhancing technical cooperation and institutional performance.



According to Syrian Arab News Agency, the meetings resulted in an agreement to schedule an additional session aimed at finalizing the management services agreement between the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority and the ICAO. This agreement is expected to foster technical collaboration and improve institutional processes within the Syrian aviation sector.



Another critical topic addressed was the issue of Syrian civil aviation funds that are currently frozen abroad. Discussions centered on strategies to utilize these funds for infrastructure development, supporting training and qualification programs, and updating technical systems to meet ICAO’s international standards and requirements.



These efforts underline Syria’s dedication to bolstering its role in the international civil aviation community and its commitment to advancing its aviation sector by adhering to global best practices.
