BEIRUT, Lebanon, The adviser to Lebanese foreign affairs minister, Ola Boutros, said Monday, that, the number of Palestinian refugees, who moved from Syria to Lebanon, have started to decrease gradually, local media reported.

“The Palestinian factions launched an initiative, to guarantee the return of Palestinian refugees, who moved to Lebanon, back to their camps in Syria,” she was quoted as saying, by The Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.

Boutros said that, Iran is building over 30,000 residential units in Syria, for Palestinians, whose houses have been destroyed, to return to Syria.

She added that, camps in Lebanon have become very crowded and they cannot host more refugees.

Lebanon is hosting 976,000 registered Syrian refugees, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), while the government estimates, the true number of Syrian refugees in the country at 1.5 million.

To secure the return of the Syrian refugees to their homeland, Russia has drafted a strategy, and presented it to the Lebanese authorities.
