SYRIA’S PORTS OF LATTAKIA, TARTOUS, BANIAS OIL DRAIN, RE-OPENED AFTER STORM-FORCED CLOSURE
LATTAKIA, Syria, The Ports of Lattakia, Tartous and Oil Drain of Banias Refinery, were re-opened for maritime navigation, Wednesday, three days after they were closed, due to a heavy sea storm that hit the area .
Speaking to a SANA reporter, Director of Ports, Gen. Akram Ibrahim, said that, ports of Lattakia and Tartous and the Oil Drain of Banyas Refinery, were re-opened for maritime navigation, after the low air pressure began to recede.
He pointed out that, no losses were recorded, due to the precautionary measures, as it had been done before, which helped avoid any damages.
Syria has been affected, since the beginning of this week, by a polar low pressure, where the wind speed exceeded 70 km/h, and the sea waves were high.
