Tabaa , UNOPS in Jordan discuss educational cooperation

Education Minister , Dr. Darem Tabaa, met Wednesday Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services(UNOPS) in Jordan, Muhammad Othman Akram, and the accompanying delegation, and discussed the axes of educational cooperation between both sides and the needs of future projects.

Minister Tabaa talked about the priorities of ministry related to training teachers, building the abilities, and addressing school dropouts and educational loss, adding that the rehabilitation of schools takes place via two tracks, the first one is within the response to the repercussions of the earthquake that hit Syria last February, while the second is the regular rehabilitation of school buildings affected as a result of the war.

Akram, in his turn, pointed out the need to seek to motivate the partners of the education sector to offer financial support for the projects of the Education Ministry and follow up the work of their managing in coordination with United Nations agencies and managing budgets.

He noted that work is underway to rehabilitate five schools in Hama as a first stage in addition to providing solar energy equipment.
