The Quality of Life Program CEO Meets with Hawi Club Leaders in Makkah Region


Makkah: The CEO of the Quality of Life Program, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Bakr, convened three meetings over three days with leaders of Hawi clubs in the Makkah region, spanning Makkah, Taif, and Jeddah. The General Manager of the Hobbies Development Sector, Tareq bin Adnan Al-Ghourab, also attended these meetings.

Al-Bakr underscored the significant support the hobbies sector receives from the wise leadership and its ability to engage diverse segments of society, enhancing their quality of life. He also emphasized that this support enables hobbyists of all genders to participate in a wide range of activities.

Moreover, Al-Bakr expressed appreciation for the unwavering support provided by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region, along with his deputy and provincial governors, across all areas of the Quality of Life Program. He highlighted the region’s wealth of youthful talents and its inviting atmosphere for organizing events, owing to its si
gnificant cultural diversity, which assists community members in pursuing their various interests and hobbies.

Throughout the three meetings, discussions centred on brainstorming ideas and proposing developmental measures to enrich the Hawi platform, a cornerstone initiative of the Quality of Life Program, and to address the hurdles and difficulties encountered by the clubs. Furthermore, efforts were made to understand and meet the clubs’ requirements and aspirations.

Al-Bakr specified that the visit to the Makkah region aims to support hobby clubs in pursuing their various interests as outlined in the Quality of Life Program’s strategy for the hobbies sector, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Additionally, the visit seeks to explore potential areas of collaboration between the program and the region’s emirate.

Encouraging young people of both genders in the region to explore hobby clubs, start their own, and actively participate through the Hawi app to access its many available services, Al-Bakr h
ighlighted the importance of engaging in hobbies.

It’s noteworthy that since the Quality of Life Program took charge of all its components, the hobbies sector in the Kingdom has experienced rapid expansion, collaborating with 12 government entities to establish the umbrella organization Hawi. This initiative is dedicated to supporting and empowering hobbyists of all genders in various pursuits while promoting continuous awareness of the importance of engaging in hobbies. In Makkah, over 40 clubs have been established, while Jeddah boasts over 100, and Taif hosts more than 30.
